Missions Trip: Cachi Construction Trip (March 2010)

Posted by Gary Pauley in Missions Trips

Recent date change for trip. Complications closing the deal on the land in Cachi has forced us to change that trip dates. We are now looking to leave on March 19th (this could change by a day one way or the other depending on ticket pricing. Tickets will be purchased on Feb. 22nd).

See Cachi on YouTube! Watch a video of Mill Creek's survey team last year here

Purpose of trip: to work on construction of house for Marcelo Brondo's family to live in and to use in the work in the valley. Marcelo Brondo is the missionary sent from the church of Sam Masters, our missionary in Argentina.

Duration of the trip: The trip will be about 10 days...with the possibility that some may go earlier or stay later, as the project demands.

Requirements: Each participant will need to have a valid US passport and to raise the funds necessary for the trip. a passport does cost a little and will require some time to get, if you do not have one already. If you need to get a passport, begin here .

Cost of trip: The cost of the trip will be $2200 per person for a 7 day trip (cost has increased as the Argentine Gov't. has recently imposed a new in-country tax of $130--read about it here). If the team should elect for a longer trip the additional cost would be $58 per day per person additional.

Description of travel: The team will travel from the US to Buenos Aires, Argentina. There another connection will be made that will go directly into the province of Salta--and to the city of that same name. Salta is a beautiful city you will really enjoy seeing. From Salta the team will take vehicles over the mountains and into the valley town of Cachi. The ride from Salta to Cachi will be approximately 4 hours. Note that the team will not be visiting Centro Crecer Church in Cordoba on this trip.

Mountains on way into CachiExplanation of the trip: Mill Creek Community Church is partnering with Centro Crecer Baptist Church in Córdoba, Argentina. Together we are working to reach a part of the huge Calchaquíes Valley in northern Argentina. Centro Crecer Church is leading the charge and have already sent a missionary who is living  in Cachi, a town centrally located in our target part of the valley.  Mill Creek is playing a support role--doing all we can to make sure the project is successful and makes a difference for Christ in the region for many years to come. We refer to this as "Project Cachi." Read more here .
