Why Mill Creek Community Church?

We all hear a lot about what church is "supposed to be" today--we get brochures in the mail, see commercials on television, and read articles in various media. Add to all this input the experiences we had in church growing up (good and bad!)...people come away with all kinds of ideas.

The brochures today all tend to say the same thing: "we have coffee," "wear casual clothes," "hear a great band," etc. As great as all that is, can't you get that at home? It seems to me that church should offer something beyond what I can get by enjoying a great cup of coffee in the comfort of my own kitchen.

Mill Creek may be a bit different than other churches you've visited. Our commitment is primarily to being the church...to being a place where people can come to hear from God and to experience his people in a loving community. Instead of the pop styled, self-help messages standard today, we feature focused messages directly from the pages of the Christian Scriptures. You will leave each Sunday with a new understanding of a passage through which God wants to speak to you.

If you haven't yet visited us--please do so! I believe you'll see a difference.

Gary Pauley, Teaching Pastor

What kind of church is Mill Creek?

Mill Creek is a non-denominational church. That is, we are not part of any denominational order or organization. There is no home office. We are not opposed to denominationalism. Various church traditions and fellowships have helped the church think through issues and many have stood bravely (and still do) for the truth of the Gospel. Non-denominationalism should not be confused with interdenominationalism with its value of theological inclusiveness. Our value is theological precision, and inclusiveness offers no assurances of precision.

Mill Creek is a conservative evangelical church. That is, we are theologically conservative (not stylistically conservative-we do employ contemporary music in our worship). This means that we believe the Christian Scriptures to be true and reliable (Mill Creek affirms The Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy). As an evangelical church we mean to place ourselves in the stream of Protestant churches born of the Reformation.
